Such a honor at this WordCamp Porto Alegre edition

Yeah, the WordCamp POA 2018 was outstanding, it was an edition of breaking records, and there were many! Not to mention that I was invited to be the Lead Organizer and the Event Host. For sure, this conference was amazing!

Yeah, the WordCamp POA 2018 was outstanding, it was an edition of breaking records, and there were many! We sold all the tickets, we had 151 participants, which compared to the 106 participants of the previous edition is an increase of almost 50%! We just did not have more participants because the place could not stand more people than that. Of all the participants, 32% were women, and if we compare with the previous edition that was 12%, we had a great evolution, or would it be a female revolution? WordPress Girl Power!

The  Wapuu of #WordCampPOA has the nickname Xiruu, and was designed for Thiago Sartorelli

This year’s organizing committee put a lot of effort into the preparation of the event, been in contact with the WordPress Foundation for months, and in search of sponsorsvolunteers, suppliers and great content, balancing between technical and marketing issues.

In summary, all of this effort and preparation eventually surpassed the expectations of the vast majority of participants.

The increasing number of attendees demonstrates that the community is growing and getting more involved with the platform and the WordPress community.

In the quest to provide high level content we rely on the help of speakers who have traveled from their cities throughout several states of the country such as São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Paraná and, of course, Rio Grande do Sul.

The program was composed of 12 regular sessions and included several themes directly related to WordPress such as development, digital marketing, systems architecture and others.

The content of the lectures was recorded on video for a total of 7 hours of recorded presentations. All recordings will also be available on our YouTube channel and on

Besides shared knowledge, WordCamp Porto Alegre was also a moment of networking and fun, accompanied by good gastronomy!

A big hug and see you in 2019!
