After share my ideas with the WordPress Miami community, I had the opportunity to meet outstanding locations over the Miami area and then a quick trip to Orlando and meet Mickey Mouse and his friends in Disney World.
It was my second time in Miami, last time I have faced huge problems with hurricane Irma, which affects me to come back home early than I expected. This time was totally different, I had the main purpose which is to present my talk at WordCamp Miami and take in advance that I bring my family with me and spend some time with them, like a small vacation.
The day before the conference we had the speakers dinner at Dave & Buster’s, we eat a great food, do some networking, I met new WordPress enthusiasts and of course, play some video games.
In the next day, early in the morning I got my car and drove to the FIU. My talk was scheduled for 10:20 am, so I watched some talks and then I test my project to see if everything is working fine, gladly all good.
This time I presented the Publish a Post Screaming, integration WordPress and the WP REST API the presentation was really cool, explain and interact with the audience was an incredible experience for me, also, the topic results in many questions. You can see the result of this talk in the video below:
The entire conference had great talks, some of them very inspiring, and in the 10th year edition we had a special guest, Matt Mullenweg came to talk about the future of WordPress. Also, I was able to review some good friends from the community. In summary, if you had the chance you definitely should come to WordCamp Miami.
The Small Family Vacation
We had a short period to meet some places around Miami, so basically, we spend time going to Miami Beach, Wynwood Walls which is really beautiful, and if you come with kids you definitely must go to Miami Children’s Museum. In the next day, I drove my car from Miami to Orlando, where we spend our days going to some parks, like the Sea World and Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
We had a great time, thank you Florida for the hospitality.
