WordCamp Toronto a mixed nation experience

Those who know me well know that I have a case of love <3 with Canada, the culture, the story and the way of the Canadians live. And in this WordCamp Toronto, I had an opportunity to bring my family with me.

Canada is a new country compared to the most developed countries, only 150-year-old, with a mixed culture, especially Toronto, we can experience many sensations in just one day.

This time I came to Canada to speak in WordCamp Toronto, and took in advance and bring my family with me because we love this country.

The Conference

As usual on the night before the conference I got to the speaker dinner, the food was Chinese cuisine, I met the organizer team and some speakers.

The conference happened at the Ryerson University in the middle of downtown Toronto, in a great location of the city. As always soon as I arrived and start to make some new friends, walking around the halls I found the sponsors, get some WordPress swag. My talk as scheduled to the end of the day, so I had time to attend many other talks during the day, I choose the talks related to development and design.

My talk runs like a charm, I had presented the Useful Tips to Shield Your WordPress Website focusing on one of my favorite topics related to WordPress: Security. If you want to take a look at the presentation, play the video below:

Around Canada

We choose Mississauga as our city home for this days, this is the large Canadian city neighbouring Toronto, and have a different way of living, it’s quieter if we compare to Toronto. This city has beautiful places, like the Celebration Square, Port Credit, and some malls.

During our stay, we visit some touristic places in the region like the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, the Royal Ontario Museum. We had a great time in Canada, we can’t wait to return some day.
